Adding extra floors / storeys to your houses and commercial buildings under permitted development – new rules just announced – goes live 31st August 2020.
The new regulations will be of particular interest to those seeking to add value to dwellinghouses and mixed use properties – enlarging buildings with additional storeys or new flats. The new rights come into effect at 9am on 31st August 2020. Although badged as ‘Permitted Development’ a ‘Prior Approval’ application must be submitted to the LPA for consideration of a number of key issues, if approval is granted it lasts for 3 years.
